Boyce started making the SC-00 Clover Bit in 2003, and more than 20 years later, it is still one of the most useful and recognizable bits we make.

The Clover was designed for the horse that needs more lateral shoulder control and a sharper response than a traditional O-ring can give you, without having to add a shank or a lot more bit.

Its unique Clover-shaped cheek changes the way the bit sits and works in the horse’s mouth. When you pick up one rein, it gives you more pull across and lateral influence, helping you move the horse’s nose and shoulder without feeling like you are pulling the bit through their mouth or getting in their face.

For a barrel horse, that makes it an excellent tuning bit when you need to sharpen the response, improve flex, move a shoulder, or get one coming around more willingly while still keeping the familiar, lighter feel of a ring bit.

It is simple, different, and extremely effective. There is a reason the Clover has stayed a favorite since 2003.
