The Colorado Saddlery Shock Absorbing Saddle Pad brings the horse and rider the best of both worlds by mixing wool and neoprene. Horse experts generally agree that 100% natural wool is best for a horse’s back. The Colorado Saddlery Shock Absorbing Pad features a wool top and bottom layer. The wool not only protects the horse's back, it also keeps the saddle firmly in place. Wool also wicks away moisture from the horse’s back and has cooling properties that help to regulate body temperature. What really separates this pad from the rest is the neoprene center, creating a lightweight shock absorbent core that conforms to and relieves the horse’s back. The neoprene center also allows the pad to be more flexible and lighter weight than a strictly wool pad. The wither cut-out provides a heat reducing pressure release. There is nothing else on the market like this pad. Wool based saddle pads are also exceptionally easy to clean, and only get better over time.
