Our Short Shank trainer is an excellent all purpose bit, with a balanced feel and weight.
Overall length is 5” with a 3” purchase and 2” shank.
This bit gives a nice quick reaction because of the purchase/shank ratio, where other short shank bits can leave your horses feeling a bit heavy.
Our signature comfort shape snaffle is not offense as a straight mouthpiece can be and not aggressive on the bars of the mouth, and is either copper wrapped or has copper inlay (depending on style) for a more pleasant mouth feel for your horse.
These bits are sold with a double link French curb chain that you can remove if you choose and replace with a curb of your choice. We recommend trying the Signature Top Hand curb for a curb that spreads the pressure and reduces the pinch with a rubber wrap and wide links.
